‘Assess the Nature’ – Financial expert praises Todd Boehly’s recent tactics
A financial expert has applauded Todd Boehly for hosting a meeting with 19 Premier League club leaders ahead of the new season.
Todd Boehly has massive shoes to fill after buying Chelsea from Roman Abramovich this summer.
The American didn’t take things slowly either. It has already pulled some backroom staff ahead of a huge rebuild at Stamford Bridge.
On Tuesday, Chelsea’s new owner also hosted a “dinner” with the leaders of the other 19 Premier League clubs.
Reports claimed it was a scouring mission from the American to see where his new club currently stands amidst the seasons competition needs.
Now, a financial expert says it’s a great strategy for Boehly to figure out who his “friends” and “enemies” are in his new venture.
“Networking in football is an absolutely essential skill,” Keiran Maguire told Football Insider.

“Identifying who your friends and foes are at an early stage can certainly be positive for any club.
“Todd Boehly comes across as a gregarious and talented individual. He will use events like this to gauge the nature and goals of other club leaders.
“He will hopefully be able to identify who his allies are when decisions are made.
“Obviously there is still a lot of bad blood from the owners of Chelsea and other devious clubs trying to set up the Super League.
“Perhaps Boehly will use this to identify softer responses than the significant hostility there is towards clubs that have tried to kidnap the domestic game.”
