Chelsea academy chief Bath: We’ve had tremendous support from Abramovich over the years

Chelsea academy chief Neil Bath has paid tribute to former owner Roman Abramovich for his support for the club’s youth system.
Abramovich sold the club to Todd Boehly’s consortium last month.
The Vision 2030 project is well underway, setting out a long-term vision for the Academy program at Cobham, and one of the key principles of this plan is to ‘start over’, which Bath is delighted to do under the new ownership group now in place at the club.
“Our attention will soon be focused on the seasons ahead and how we can improve and improve,” he told the club’s website. “One of the most important parts of this is the implementation of our Vision 2030 strategy.
“We had the opportunity to present this plan to Todd Boehly and the new owners during a series of meetings, during which their feedback and support was truly positive and encouraging.
“We have had tremendous support from Roman Abramovich for many years and now we are truly excited to start a new era with these new ideas, innovations and strategies at the heart of our progress. It is an exciting time to be at the Chelsea Academy!”
