  • The government has also announced that it will accept donations of the Polkadot cryptocurrency
  • Experts fear Russia is skirting sanctions by fleeing to cryptocurrencies
  • All donations are intended to benefit civilians and humanitarian causes

With the call for giveaways for crypto forms of money, the Ukrainian government launched something new over the weekend. Anyone wishing to help the nation and their loved ones can donate Bitcoin, Ethereum and the digital currency USDT, the real Ukraine Twitter account covered on Saturday.

Likewise, two locations have been discovered to which crypto gifts can be moved. Priest for Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, also shared the call.

186 Bitcoins and 2,477 Ethereum

After crypto assets worth a few million dollars were gathered in the first few hours, giveaways to Bitcoin and Ethereum alone amounted to around $15 million. As the STANDARD had the ability to understand through the freely apparent exchange record of the blockchain, the public authority has gathered around 186 Bitcoin and 2,477 Ether so far.

Over 16,000 individual exchanges have shown up on the two sites since it was called a few days ago. Likewise, a large portion of the collected crypto gifts are mined from both wallets at the usual intervals.

Gifts are also recognized at Polkadot

On Tuesday, the public authority also said it would recognize donations of Polkadot digital cash and released a related address on Twitter. Since exchange fees are essentially lower than Bitcoin and Ethereum, this digital currency is more qualified for smaller sums. The Ukrainian initiative also involved the message to thank the crypto region for its ability to help.

Official government addresses are not the only ones giving crypto money to Ukraine. Another ten million dollars has been transferred to the Ukrainian association Come Back Alive, gathering assets to prepare and strengthen the Ukrainian army since Russia added the landmass of Crimea in 2014. Nevertheless, the first attraction on the site Patreon crowdfunding has been disabled on the ground as the US stage limits grants to war exercises.

Pussy Riot advances the NFT banner

It is also associated with the offer of the Ukrainian banner as an NFT. The current supply is 1,103 Ether ($3.2 million) and the absolute giveaway pool has so far raised 1,535 ETH (over $4.5 million). Russian troublemaker Pussy Riot, which has generally blamed Putin, is a co-initiator and declared the NFT offer on Twitter. A comparison site has also been set up on “ukrainedao.love”. All donations are intended to help ordinary people and philanthropic causes.

How a conflict on European soil will become the main critical test for digital currencies to gradually demonstrate their usefulness is seen by more people in the crypto region as a miserable incongruity of fate. In any case, the market responded euphorically on Monday, recovering virtually all the woes since the outbreak of the conflict. Bitcoin has interestingly risen to more than 40,000 since the beginning of January and authorities in the matter agree, the cost of bitcoin could rise again for a very long time.

Addresses published through them

Before making a trade, you should check if the Ukrainian Initiative Twitter account or other freebies is genuine and not hacked. In the event that a call to an authority account has been online for a while and is also posted by other authority government accounts, there is a decent possibility that the addresses are genuine.

One should be especially careful on Twitter assuming that the pranks referred to appear in replies to any tweet.

These are in many cases somewhat altered counterfeit registrations that should lure individuals into the trap with a similar profile picture and slightly unique registration names. Subsequently, individuals should compare distributed addresses and other authority calls to see if the mix is a good one. (Martin Stepanek, March 1, 2022)
