Jamie Carragher tells Liverpool to ‘look more like Chelsea’, says Reds ‘haven’t won enough’ in seven years under Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool must become ‘serial trophy collectors’ like Chelsea and prioritize winning more silverware under Jurgen Klopp, according to Anfield legend Jamie Carragher.
The Reds have become one of the best teams in Europe since Klopp arrived at Anfield in 2015.

Klopp helped Liverpool win a first-ever Premier League title, but he only won two trophies in seven years at the club
However, they have only picked up two pieces of silverware as they enter the seventh year of his tenure – the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League title in 2020.
Chelsea have been England’s most successful club since Roman Abramovich took over as club manager in 2003, having won 21 trophies during his tenure.
The Blues’ last two trophies arrived when they beat Man City in the Champions League final last summer, before triumphing over Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup before the start of that campaign.
Carragher believes Liverpool do not get the rewards they deserve for the dominant team Klopp has assembled, and says his former club should form a similar role model to title rivals Chelsea in order to earn more silverware.

Carragher believes Klopp’s men need to be more like Chelsea in their relentless pursuit of trophies
“His team haven’t won enough,” the Liverpool legend said in his column for the Daily Telegraph.
âOut of context, it seems extremely unfair. A better way to put it is that they didn’t win as much as their performances deserved.
“To put it simply, Liverpool need to be more like Chelsea.”
He added: âWhat they did so well in Roman Abramovich‘s time was to become serial trophy collectors: five FA Cups, three League Cups, two Europa League titles. It is in addition to being twice winners of the Champions League.
âAmbition didn’t change at Stamford Bridge as they were the team everyone was trying to catch in the mid-2000s.
âChelsea will enter each season with the intention of competing for the Premier League and the Champions League. But they have proven that they are able to look down to ensure that different eras have maximum reward for the football produced. “
Chelsea has been a dominant force in England this century
Liverpool were worthy Champions League and Premier League winners but it was their shortcomings in other cup competitions that saw them collect far fewer trophies than their rivals.
The Reds’ last FA Cup success dates back to 2006 and they won the League Cup – now the Carabao Cup – six years later.
Klopp’s men, however, are still chasing all four of the club’s trophies this season.
They will face Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final next Thursday – and you can follow all the action live on talkSPORT.
