Joe Biden’s Cadillac vs. Vladimir Putin’s Aurus Senate: A Monster Limousine Showdown
It was quite a spectacle in Geneva on Wednesday when two of the world’s most powerful heads of state arrived for a summit. US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the summit venue in their respective processions. Each of the two leaders were driven to the site in their own bullet-proof and bomb-proof presidential limousines.

The vehicles used to transport heads of state are always special vehicles, loaded with a host of luxurious and classified features, high-end gadgets and technologies. Biden and Putin are no different.
Biden uses a $ 1.5 million Cadillac limousine called the Beast. Putin, meanwhile, drives an Aurus Senat limousine which is just as capable.
What is special about Joe Biden’s Cadillac limousine?
President Biden’s Cadillac limousine presents itself as a fort on wheels. It has night vision cameras, tear gas cannons, a state-of-the-art communication system, a secure oxygen system, an automatic fire extinguisher system, smokescreen president’s blood supply in case of emergency.
The Beast chassis was developed by General Motors. It is made of steel while the body of the car is a combination of steel, aluminum, titanium and ceramic. The 20,000-pound beast has 8-inch thick armor which also makes it impenetrable to bullets and explosives.
The three-inch thick windows feature five-ply glass and polycarbonate for protection against penetrating bullets. The limousine doors weigh as much as the doors of a Boeing 757. The body wears 5 inch thick military grade armor.
The car runs on Kevlar reinforced run-flat tires allowing the vehicle to roll even if the tires are deflated. It also protects the tires from shreds and punctures. The doors obtain a 100% sealing on the doors to protect the occupants from any chemical or biological attack.
The fuel tank of this vehicle is armored and covered with a special foam to prevent it from exploding in the event of direct impact. Beast’s rear compartment is separated from the driver’s compartment by a glass screen and can accommodate five occupants, including the chair. Only the chair can lower the bulkhead at the touch of a switch.
The chairman can communicate with anyone anywhere in the world from the secure in-vehicle communication system. It is similar to the Oval Office and Airforce One communication system. He also has a direct channel of communication with the US Vice President and the Pentagon.
The limousine is powered by a 5.0 liter diesel engine. The power and torque output of the engine is unknown, but reports suggest it offers 3 kmpl of mileage.
What is special about Vladimir Putin‘s Aurus Senat limousine?
The Russian President‘s Aurus Senat limousine is manufactured by the Russian luxury car brand NAMI. Measuring 21.7 feet long and weighing 14,330 pounds, Aurus Senat gets its power from a 4.4-liter V8 engine combined with a hybrid powertrain system.
The engine develops 598 horsepower. NAMI is currently working on a more powerful Senat with a 6.6 liter V12 engine, capable of developing 857 hp of power. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The Aurus Senat is supposed to be able to protect the Russian president even if he is completely overwhelmed. There is a civilian version of this car in development that will cost buyers $ 245,000.
Being the state limousine of Russia, the specifications of the car were not disclosed. But, he is as capable as the Beast. The car is equipped with a bomb and bullet proof system. In addition, there is a multitude of defensive system on board the limousine.
