Olympiacos Piraeus loaned goalkeeper Antonis Koniaris to Israeli basketball Champions League team Hapoel Holon. The deal sees the Greek player join Holon for a month, while there is an option for the loan to be extended for the remainder of the season.
If Koniaris is to stay with Holon for more than a month, the team must first move on to the next stage of the Basketball Champions League, as the player is not eligible to participate in the Israeli Winners League. Holon is currently 2-2 in the BCL regular season.
Koniaris has only played five minutes in a EuroLeague game this season, after averaging 13:22 minutes out of 24 matches in 2019-2020. The player and Olympiacos were looking for an opportunity that would give him ample time on the pitch, hence his loan to Holon.
Olympiacos had signed Koniaris for a three-year contract in 2019.
