The great George Gregan of the Wallabies accused of “ racist ” language

The great George Gregan of the Wallabies has been accused of using “hateful and racist language” while plotting to remove a former business partner from the man-founded company. Sky News can exclusively reveal that the explosive conversations between the most capped Wallaby and another former player are set to feature in a top-tier tryout next month. Mr Gregan and Matthew Dixon, a former NSW Waratahs player, are accused of devising a plan to oust Alexander Goldberg from PTP Fitness, the fitness products company the Jewish businessman founded in 2010. A series of SMS and WhatsApp messages between Mr. Gregan and Mr. Dixon were presented to Federal Court by Mr. Goldberg’s attorney, Robert Stitt QC, during a preliminary hearing. In a May 3, 2019 text message, Mr. Gregan sends Mr. Dixon a photo of a Nazi warplane with a web link to the definition of “blitzkrieg.” “When we strike it will be an avalanche … aka Blitzkrieg!” “His nose and ears are bleeding and he will not be able to stand up because he will not have legs … he took bad donkeys and this is the consequence of his actions …” In a previous message sent on April 10, he wrote: âMy mother’s maiden name … translates to ‘Kill first ask questions later’ … that time has come. A fortnight later, he sent an SMS: “We will very soon let go of the guillotine and the hammer to get rid of this parasite.” During the exchange, Mr. Gregan repeatedly called Mr. Goldberg a “cockroach”, including writing on May 2: “I have a war chest for this cockroach!” The head of the Jewish community, Dr Dvir Abramovich, chairman of the Anti-Defamation Commission, said such use of Nazi images is “unacceptable”. âIt’s not Australian, it’s offensive and it should be categorically rejected,â Dr Abramovich said. He said the terms “cockroach” and “parasite” were associated with a long history of anti-Semitism and defamation of Jews, dating back to the Nazis. “Hitler in his book Mein Kamf called the Jews ‘parasites’,” said Dr Abramovich. âThe Nazis, who did not see Jews as human and not worthy of life and dignity, often referred to Jews as subhumans and ‘cockroaches.’ “These types of terms are hateful, racist, and should never be used in any context.” Mr. Stitt told the court that the messages “reveal that the oppressive campaign is overt, malicious and very personal, and directed against Mr. Goldberg personally.” Mr. Goldberg founded Fitness Systems, which operates as PTP Fitness, from his apartment 11 years ago. PTP is now a multi-million dollar business with products stocked in Rebel Sport and on The Iconic website. Mr. Goldberg brought in his brother-in-law Matthew Dixon first as an investor and then co-director. In turn, Mr. Dixon brought in his friend George Gregan, initially only as an ambassador receiving an annual fee of $ 20,000. But in 2019 Mr Gregan also became a director and started receiving a salary, in the same year Mr Goldberg claims his job was unfairly sacked while on compassionate care leave to support his partner who had given birth. . Mr. Gregan and Mr. Dixon defend the allegations and have launched their own counterclaim, alleging that Mr. Goldberg breached his statutory and fiduciary duties as a director. Contacted by Sky News, Mr Gregan said he could not comment on the posts while the case was still in court. “I trust our legal system to deliver a fair judgment,” said Mr. Gregan. The case is entered for trial on June 15.
