Tim Sherwood suggested on the weekend preview that Tottenham would have to ‘wait behind the scenes in case’ Chelsea sack Thomas Tuchel.
The former Tottenham boss has made it clear he cannot see Chelsea parting ways with the German.

But given the reputation of a certain Roman Abramovich, the fact that they could miss the top four and lose the Champions League final, then the ex-Tottenham man thinks Chelsea could be on the hunt for a new boss.
Ahead of the final day of the Premier League season and Chelsea’s upcoming Champions League final, Sherwood shared his thoughts on what faces Tuchel on the other side and what Daniel Levy should do if the unthinkable happens.
âThese are great margins as a football manager,â Sherwood said. âWe have spoken highly of him in recent months. He was brilliant. He played two cup finals. But failed to win one.
âThey have a tough job beating Man City in the next one and they could end up outside the top four.
âNow let’s go back to the history of this football club. Normally when you don’t pull it off like that, forget the cup finals and forget to miss the last day. Roman Abramovich is not looking at this. He looks at the output and what you actually delivered.
âThey might be looking for a new manager for next season. I don’t think for a minute they should. I think he’s a very talented coach.
âBut if I’m Tottenham and Daniel Levy, I’m waiting behind the scenes in case they make the decision to get rid of him, which they won’t. But it could be their best season or their worst season in a very long time. ”
Even if Chelsea are playing Europa League football next season, it is Tuchel who must and surely always will be in charge.
As for Tottenham, fans are excited about what’s going on at their club, with Daniel Levy making a bad call after a bad call.
And with those Harry Kane rumors swirling like a tornado hitting the sea, Levy must act quickly to bring a new face as there doesn’t seem to be much light at the end of the tunnel.
