Victor Davis Hanson warns Joe Biden: “Very dangerous” to provoke Vladimir Putin and not to dissuade him
Author and historian Victor Davis Hanson joined “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Friday to discuss the “Russia-associated” hack of the colonial pipeline and what President Biden should do to combat the nation’s current “inflationary cycle”.
HANSON: It’s a very dangerous thing to provoke Vladimir Poutine unless you dissuade him. We spoke hard and carried a twig, and these Russian associate hackers know it. They are not afraid to attack the United States. They are very bright. They have a Machiavellian view of the American progressive line. They said, “We are not looking for charities. We are not looking for hospitals. We are going to hack a pipeline.” I think that subtext was: “You canceled pipelines, so what’s the problem?” If the gas goes up, Steven Chu of the Obama administration said $ 10 a gallon is a good thing, it will cut fossil fuels. It is a very dangerous thing because it is to print money and to discourage production. So too, provoke the Russians and don’t be harsh.
Joe Biden needs to get on TV quickly and say that we are in an inflationary cycle and I call on all producers, timber, food, gas and oil, to come out and produce. You are going to have a stable and predictable regulatory tax climate and we want you to help us. This is not the message we are getting. I grew up 40 years ago and saw this happen with Jimmy Carter.
